Fashionable Wallets

Long before leather wallets became known, leather pouches were more popular because coins were the prevalent currency. Wallets emerged when paper currency was established in the West during the 1600s. The first wallets were made of prime leather from cow or horse hide and were very sturdy.

If the first wallets were used to store paper currency and coins, today's leather wallets are not as different except for the card slots that became popular after credit cards were created in the early '50s. About the only change in wallets was probably in the 1970s when Velcro became popular. Wallets today come in various shapes, sizes, and designs.

There are leather wallets that can be hung around the neck with a leather string. This is to conceal them from the naked eye and not invite ideas of thievery.

There are five different kinds of these travel wallets especially designed for girls. For men, it's okay to own a single wallet. Let's look at them one by one.

* For women on the go, there's the space-saving front pocket leather wallet. This is flat and rounded making it easier for the owner to carry it around on the front pocket. Despite the space-saving feature of the front pocket wallet, it can hold cash, cards, change, and IDs. This is often made of Napa leather and they come in black and brown colors with a splash of other colors for a more glitzy look. But you might also want those that has a little splash of colors like pink, blue, and green.
